Accessibility Statement
BadgerCTF is committed to making cybersecurity education accessible to every student, regardless of ability.
Last updated: 2026
Standards
Our marketing site and application target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. We test with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA (Windows), and keyboard-only navigation.
What We Support
- Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks across all marketing pages.
- Keyboard navigation throughout the lab interface, including the embedded terminal (xterm.js exposes screen-reader hooks).
- High-contrast color palette meeting AA contrast ratios for body text.
- Resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Alt text on all informative images.
Known Gaps
Web-based terminal emulation has inherent accessibility challenges. For students who require alternatives, BadgerCTF instructors can provide:
- Direct SSH access to lab environments (compatible with assistive screen readers via terminal multiplexers).
- Pre-recorded lab walkthroughs with descriptive narration.
- Text-only versions of interactive lab exercises on request.
